Michelle Spencer, 51, says that she spent her life savings on husband Rami Selmi, 22, who she met online and has now divorced.

But she now claims that she has found love with another Tunisian man, who she met in the same internet chatroom.

Michelle, from Stockport, said that Selmi begged her to fly to Tunisia, and proposed after just two weeks.

However, because he did not have a job, Michelle – who claims incapacity benefits – paid for the wedding.

But after she returned to the UK in the hope of getting him a visa, she said he began asking her for money.

And, despite warnings from her family, she sent him large sums until her life savings were gone.

She said: “I was in love so was happy to spend for the wedding.

“It all happened very quickly but it was a whirlwind and it felt so right. I didn’t mind spending the money – at first. I was completely swept off my feet.

“My 19-year-old daughter Rachel warned me I was being taken for a ride but I thought she was being silly.

“Rami would ask me for money for things like driving lessons so he could get a job.

“I didn’t mind sending it over, because he was my husband after all and I was sure he would treat me as soon as he got a job.”

Her divorce was finalised a month ago, but she says she is still looking for love online.

But she says she will not rush into marriage with her new lover, after meeting him in the same chatroom as her former husband.

She said: “It’s going great with Mesbeh – he’s so different to Rami.

“He doesn’t ask me for money and we talk online for a couple of hours every day.

“I try to go to see him but it’s hard as I spent all my money on Rami.”
