I recently had a solo trip to Hammamet. I was asked by a group of young Algerians in the pool to take their photo. We chatted a bit. That was that. A couple of evenings later I was in the hotel nightclub with a some English women. The Algerians were there. We had a laugh, and after too many drinks, I ended up kissing one of them. He lied about his age. Thought I was younger than I am.
No excuses, I know!
We exchanged numbers, and his party left the next day for another resort. A few days later he wrote to me saying that all his money had been stolen. Really? What a coincidence – except, I don’t believe in coincidences. And could I GIVE him money. I’m probably not allowed to write my response on here … in any language. He was furious, and said: I ask you for one single thing, and this is what you do. Wow! Then he suggested we meet up again (great idea, not!) and I arrange a marriage certificate in Tunisia for him.
End of him. It took me ages to find all their profiles and block them everywhere. Exhausting.
But they are very cunning in many ways. He knew that I went to this place regularly … now I fear he might be there during my upcoming trip, as he and his friends go to the sister hotel every year around the same time.
